Documents Required for JEE Main

When filling out the JEE Main application form, you will need to keep scanned copies of specific documents ready. The exact list depends on your category, but commonly required documents include:

• Passport Size Photograph: Recent, colored or black & white, with 80% face visibility.
• Candidate Signature: Black or blue ink on white paper.

Official Photograph Guidelines

The National Testing Agency (NTA) has very strict rules regarding the photograph you upload. Ensure you follow these to the letter:

• Background Colour: The background must be completely white. No scenery or dark backgrounds.
• Face Visibility: 80% of your face (without mask) must be visible, including your ears.
• Recent Photograph: The photo must have been taken recently (usually on or after a specified date in the notification).
• Spectacles Rules: Spectacles are allowed only if you use them regularly, but there must be no glare or reflection on the lenses. Sunglasses are strictly prohibited.
• Head Covering: Caps and hats are not allowed. Religious headwear is allowed provided it does not cover the face.
• No Selfies: Selfies and polaroid photos are not acceptable and will lead to rejection.

Official Signature Guidelines

Your signature verifies your identity during the examination. Follow these steps:

• Pen Type: Use a black or blue ballpoint/ink pen.
• Paper: Sign on a blank, unruled white paper.
• Handwriting: The signature must be in running handwriting. Block/Capital letters are not accepted and will cause rejection.
• Cropping: Scan only the signature area, not the entire A4 sheet.
