What is the UPSC Photo & Signature Resizer?
Applying for the Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) Civil Services Examination (CSE), NDA, CDS, or updating your UPSC One Time Registration (OTR) profile requires strict adherence to digital image standards. The official UPSC portal on upsconline.nic.in automatically rejects any file that does not strictly comply with dimensions, aspect ratios, or file sizes.
Our UPSC Photo & Signature Resizer is calibrated specifically according to the latest UPSC examination notices. It automatically adjusts your photograph into the 20 KB to 200 KB range with a 1:1 square ratio (minimum 350×350 pixels) and compresses your black-ink signature into the required 20 KB to 100 KB bracket.

Official UPSC Photograph Guidelines
The Union Public Service Commission enforces strict quality and identification criteria for photographs:
- Plain White Background: The background must be pure white. Colored, textured, or outdoor backgrounds will be rejected.
- 75%–80% Face Visibility: The candidate's face must occupy 75% to 80% of the photograph area. Both ears must be clearly visible.
- No Glare or Tinted Glasses: Spectacles are allowed only if worn daily, but lenses must be completely clear without reflection or glare. Sunglasses are strictly prohibited.
- Head Coverings: Caps and hats are disallowed. Religious headgear is permitted provided the entire facial outline from forehead to chin is unobstructed.
- Name & Date of Photo (DOP): UPSC instructions recommend uploading a recent photo taken within 10 days before the commencement of the online application form. Candidates can select our "Name & Date" checkbox to add candidate name and photo date.
Official UPSC Signature Guidelines
To avoid signature upload failure on the UPSC OTR portal:
- Black Ink Pen: UPSC strictly requires the signature to be signed in **black ink** on a clean, unlined white sheet. Blue ink or pencil signatures risk rejection.
- Running Handwriting: The signature must be in natural cursive / running handwriting. Signatures written entirely in capital (BLOCK) letters are disqualified.
- No Background Shadows: Use our "Magic Paper Cleaner" button to whiten scanned paper backgrounds and sharpen dark ink lines.
