- SSC MTS (Multi-Tasking Staff): Divided into two groups based on the department: 18-25 years and 18-27 years.
SSC CGL Age Limit for Female Candidates
A very common question is whether there is a special SSC CGL age limit for female candidates in the General category.
General Female Candidates: There is NO specific upper age relaxation for female candidates belonging to the Unreserved (General) category. The age limit remains identical to male candidates (18-27, 30, or 32 based on the post). However, female candidates are completely exempted from paying the application fee.
Exceptions (Widows / Divorced Women): Women who are widowed, divorced, or judicially separated and have not remarried receive massive age relaxations. For Group C posts (like Auditor, Tax Assistant, MTS, CHSL), their upper age limit is relaxed to 35 years (General), 38 years (OBC), and 40 years (SC/ST).
Category-Wise Age Relaxations
The SSC follows standardized Government of India age relaxation norms. If you belong to a reserved category, these years are added to the maximum age limit of the specific post:
| Category | Age Relaxation |
|---|---|
| Scheduled Caste (SC) / Scheduled Tribe (ST) | +5 Years |
| Other Backward Classes (OBC - Non-Creamy Layer) | +3 Years |
| Persons with Benchmark Disabilities (PwBD - UR) | +10 Years |
| Ex-Servicemen (ESM) | +3 Years (After deduction of military service length) |
